All that has been buzzing in my head recently is three
words: destiny, dream, and vision! Well, I am inspired by Martin Luther King
because he is proof among many others that dreams do come true! I attended a
function on Friday evening with my friend Linda and her husband! You could feel
the tension and irritability from the people there because apparently things
did not go as expected, but I believe that everything happens for a reason, so
I make the best out of every situation! There is a certain place that we must
all attain, it’s called destiny and the God of the universe will use anything
to get you to your destiny! Events, people, foes, talents, weaknesses, and
strengths-all these play a huge role in you reaching that certain place! After
re-dedicating my life fully to God, I realized that I had missed many
opportunities of destiny in my life and I am not going to commit the same
mistake again! So I attend church events, I use my talents wherever I can, and I
boldly approach people who seem unapproachable! I choose to do what I can do
and leave the rest to God, after all life is a choice! Sure God does love you
when you don’t attend church, when you don’t fast and pray, when you refuse to
use your talents for His glory, and that is awesome! But being inactive and
stagnant in your journey as a Christian will get you nowhere! You will be the
same old saved Christian who never experiences the benefits of having the
Creator of the universe dwell in you!
When destiny collides…
So yes, I attended this function and when the night was
over, I stood on the queue to take a picture with Vickie Vilakazi, a famous South
African gospel artist! While people were taking pictures, I, not even thinking
twice, grabbed hold of the microphone and began singing! I usually get
frightened when I sing in a crowed but my voice surprised me, it was beautiful!
Vicky came over to, put her arm around me, and joined in! This is like a famous
person? I take things in life seriously! Having a famous person backing me up
when I sing is serious business to me! Being a cell leader in a vibrant and big
church like CRC is serious business to me! God never extends a day without
purpose and just being able to get up each day, breathe in and out, is a big
deal to me! Nothing can ever be taken for granted, every single detail of your
life leads to your destiny, be appreciative! God is just pilling brick upon
brick, laying down a foundation for your destiny that no enemy can break! Avail
yourself, be bold, be enthusiastic, be ready, take risks, do what you can do
and leave the rest to God!
When destiny collides, don’t expect everybody to be happy
for you, yup not even your friends! I had people insinuating with their
gestures and comments that Vicky is a “nobody”, and see, when destiny collides,
that’s when you’ll be able to see who your true friends are! People will
look for the smallest thing to demotivate you when you are at your most culminating
point, and that’s perfectly fine! (If you go with the dream that God has given
you, people will begin to see the dream that God has placed in your heart
instead of seeing you! To them, it will seem bigger than your name. They may
heap scorn on your dream too! One of the reasons they do that is because they
can tell that your dream is going to come to pass! They’re afraid of your
dream! People don’t bother to disparage someone else if they don’t think that
the person’s dream is powerful! Jentezen Franklin). Focus on God and what He
says about you! At the end of the day, it is your own confession that will
bring about a breakthrough to destiny!
Testimonies of a positive confession
There are a couple of confessions that I make each morning
first thing when I open my eyes, and I will share some with you!
1) My voice is improving; actually it is the best in the
whole world. Through my voice, people are accepting Jesus!
My singing is really not “all that”, I admit it because I
know it! But I have a dream and that is to use my voice in the church! So
because of this I make this confession daily! God can work with nothing and
make it something, He can work with your larynx, vocal cords, voice pipe,
anything! When I sang that night my voice was all of a sudden sweetly
vibrating, it had captured people’s attention who complimented me afterwards!
2) I am passing all my courses at the end of this semester
Generally, I am one person who used to dislike school, especially
during tests and exams because I never really passed well the first time
around! This year however, I have told myself that I am not going to settle for
failure, so no matter what the odds are; I am going to pass every course! I
wrote a zoology semester test a few weeks back, which I didn’t really study much
for-as usual, but when the results came out I had gotten above 60%. Now this is
a good mark for somebody who is not prepared, with all the scientific names and
complexity of the content! It takes a miracle in such an instance to pass, and
the miracle is in the confession you make! With all the semester tests I’ve
written so far, I passed all of them with above 60% and any UOFS student knows
that this is a good mark!!! But I am not settling for 60%; imagine the
possibilities of a positive confession and harder work?
3) I write for God’s glory and His anointing is released
through my writing! My blog readers will come to me and testify of God’s
goodness!
Writing for God is not easy, actually everything that you do
for God is not easy because you are constantly seeking to have God glorified in
all that you do, not seeking fame or any other personal glory! So because I
want to be under the authority of the Holy Spirit and not just write because of
personal vendettas with people or try to prove anything to anybody, I include
this in my daily confession! And yes, people have been confirming it!
“Beautiful read! I felt God all over that! Love you Tissy and
thanks for sharing! God is so good, His love is amazing, His mercy endures
forever, His forgiveness is undeniable, and His presence brings peace!” Matt
“That moment where I wished you blogged every day! Sometimes
situations are too hard to handle but reading your blog gives one a reflection
on how to act!” Refilwe
These sweet messages don’t excite me as much as seeing my confession coming to pass does!
Learn from the best
For you to understand the power of confession you have to
read and study your Word, learn how Jesus reacted to situations around Him!
Once he was going into Jerusalem with His disciples, and he was very hungry. So
he saw a fig tree nearby and thought that he could get something to eat from
it, only to find out that the tree did not have anything to eat! He said to the
tree, “No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever”, and together with his
disciples they continued with their journey! The following day when everybody
had forgotten about the tree incident and what Jesus had said to it, Peter saw
that the tree had dried out and he said to Jesus, “Master, behold, the fig tree
which thou cursedst is withered away!!” Jesus said, “Have faith in God!” It’s
as simple as that, just have faith in God, holdfast your confession, and have
faith in God! Jesus did not angrily curse the tree, kick it, or do anything
funny, he didn’t fast for 40 days and 40 nights before he could speak the
destiny of the tree, He just calmly confessed it with his own mouth and
believed it! (For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this
mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt
in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to
pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23)
