Quotes

"Don't allow the commonality of the name of Jesus to cause you to forget the raw power of that name. Jesus is the name above every name. Devils quiver at that name, angels launch into flight at that name, the sick are healed by the power of the name of Jesus. No evil thing can stand against the name of Jesus. At the name of Jesus your family iniquities have no choice but to bow."~Marilyn Hickey

"The cross of Christ confronts and overcomes both the pride of man and his insecurity. The Holy Spirit was sent to convict the world of sin because it is the revelation of our sin that drives us to the cross to find grace and forgiveness. This destroys our pride and establishes our dependency on the Savior, which also restores our trust in Him. The deeper the cross works in us, the more humble we will become, and the more secure in His love. When we, who are so foreign to God's nature, are accepted back into Him by His grace, it works a tolerance in us for those who are different  from our nature. Subsequently, those who become spiritual begin to judge from a spiritual perspective, not after the flesh."~Rick Joyner

      "There
are lonely days. We wish God would show us the end picture in order to understand the importance of obedience, but He
wont. That's where faith and hope in His promises come in. There are
days when you feel spiritual, but there's also days when you feel
overwhelmed by tempation, confusion and doubt, but stay true to yourself.
Never forget in the dark what God told you in the light. Jesus is by
your side and He'll never leave you nor forsake you."~Tissy

"Today, upon a bus, I saw a lovely maid with golden hair, I envied her, she seemed so bright, and wished I were as fair. When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle; she had one foot and wore a crutch, but as she passed she smiled. O God, forgive me when I whine; I have two feet and the world is mine. And then I stopped to buy some sweets; the lad who sold them had such charm. I talked with him and he said to me, It's nice to talk with folks like you; You see, he said, I'm blind. Oh God, forgive me when I whine; I have two eyes and the world is mine. Then walking down the street I saw a child with eyes of blue. He stood and watched the others play. But seemed he knew not what to do. I stopped for a moment and said; Why don't you join the others, my dear? He looked ahead without a word and then I knew- he could not hear. O God, forgive me when I whine; I have two ears and the world is mine.

"Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him."~1Corinthians1:26-29

“The mind of God is that He desires the increase of His kingdom. When He blessed Abraham, it wasn’t just for Abraham, but for all the descendants of Abraham. When He gifts a minister to preach, it isn’t to inflate his ego, but to win souls and to bless and strengthen people. When He baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit, He isn’t giving a “spiritual reward” or “stamp of approval” but a gift that our lives might flow out to others. When a church is blessed with the need for a larger building, it isn’t to reward the ego or performance of the pastor. Rather, it is a blessing from God that more people can be reached for His kingdom. When He directs me to write a book, it isn’t so I can boast that I’m an author, but that so many souls might be encouraged and edified for His glory. John Proclaimed, (He must increase, but I must decrease)”~ Steve Sampson

"The repentance God desire of us is not just contrition over particular sins; it is also a daily attitude, a perspective...it is the process by which we see ourselves, day by day, as we really are, sinful, needy, dependent people. It is the process by which we see God as He is awesome majestic holy...and it so radically alters our perspective that we begin to see the world through God's eyes not our own. Repentance is the ultimate surrender of life."~ Charles Colson

"Where would I have been, where would you have been but for the blessed Holy Spirit? At our first fingering with sin, as soon as sin seduced our hearts and inflamed our desires, when our vagrant wishes tried to run after sensual images; if He had not been there to sustain and support us, where would we have been? How grateful ought every Christian to be for the Holy Spirit who is at work within us pleading against the sinful desires with which everyone of us is acquainted?"~ Selwyn Hughes

“Praying and sinning will never live together in the same heart. Prayer will consume sin, or sin will choke prayer.” J.C. Ryle

“Don’t give up. If God has called you to do something then make sure you finish it. Struggle is the chrysalis out of which a new vision of God comes. When pressure comes against you, persevere. God will not let you down. You will find that His strength is more than a match for anything you are called to face. And this doesn’t mean you won’t feel pressure. What it means is the pressure will never get you down. You will be upheld on the inside. There will be something so strong within that it will support you-no matter what. So never give up. Never, never give up. Never, never, never give up!” ~Selwyn Hughes

“In our intimacy with God we should be like little children who are so aware of their father’s tender love that whenever they fall they instinctively look to their Daddy for love and understanding. Maybe you can only imagine a mother engendering such love and trust. No problem. God is like the perfect mother as well as the perfect father. No matter how tragic is your perception of a parent, however, don’t let it ruin your life by spoiling your understanding of God’s compassion. He is the God of infinite comfort. He believes in you. He forgives and forgives and forgives because he loves and loves and loves. Your Savior is delighted every time you run to him for forgiveness or consolation or strength or even when you treat him as someone on whom to vent your frustration.”~Grantley Morris

“The enemy of our souls continually whispers malicious lies about our God. Whenever we fall we need divine comfort and encouragement more than ever. Don’t break God’s heart by shrinking from him in fear or hiding from him in shame; treating him like some heartless beast; imagining that in his hand is a whip to beat us, when it is actually the world’s softest handkerchief to dry our tears. Whenever you fall, run into the welcoming, outstretched arms of the Lord who is devoted to you. Not only will he console you, he will inspire you to victory.”~ Grantley Morris

“Our bodies are created by God and are a part of God’s creation. And God called us “very good.” God loves creation-all of creation-and so should we. But we often fall into the trap of not caring for ourselves as we should. As we set out on a journey to better health, we know that the way will not always be easy. We will certainly have moments of frustration as well as setbacks. But we can trust that God sees us as a part of creation and calls us “very good.””~ Dr. Scott Morris

"When feeling defeated, one of the most important things is to focus on God’s great love for you and not let deceptive spirits trick you into thinking that God frowns on you when you fall into sin. Yes, God is disappointed, but when a little child with good parents falls, what’s the first thing he does? He runs to mommy or daddy for comfort. You, too, can run to Daddy. God is on your side. He cares deeply for you. Your spiritual enemies, however, want to make you feel uneasy about running to God. They know we instinctively shrink from anyone we fear might be angry or displeased with us and we will keep that person at arm’s length. Your enemies want you to be standoffish from the only One who can truly deliver you and defeat their attempts to bring you down. They don’t want you to rejoice in God’s forgiveness but to feel miserable and isolated from the warmth of God’s comfort." ~Grantley Morris

"My heart is heavy with the burdens of people who hide their secrets and suffer behind fake smiles. I have such a deep love for God's people and I want to see them live victorious lives. This is why I must strip myself as Jonathan did. As painful and embarrassing as it may be, I have to take off my garments to show  that I'm vulnerable too. I am willing to uncover myself to cover you. The Lord told me that I would have to be bold enough to risk my reputation to set the captives free. It's not easy to open yourself to criticism. But I'm dependent on God, and I know that He will vindicate me"~Juanita Bynum

    “My heart’s cry
    is to know God
    so intimately and extensively
that I not only be in love with my Lord,
enjoying him and delighting in all his wonders,
but that I live in holy fear; revering the consuming fire of the Almighty,
before whom all things lie naked and exposed.” ~Grantley Morris

"What a thrill and a comfort and joy to know that Jesus is with me wherever I go. He's with me throughout the livelong day. He talks and he walks every step of my way. Whatever I say and whatever I do He shares and he cares and he watched me too. His Holy Spirit's my comfort and guide, with him i know I can share and confide. I trust him because i know i'm secure in his future strength and his love that's so sure. He holds me so firm in his nail-pierced hand; I know I can hope 'coz my future he's planned. What a blessing to see this Christ face to face, His Spirit's made my body his dwelling place. Now I'm only his- and the Spirit's his seal that he owns me and makes my life true and real."~David Grimbeek

“Famous Christians, like the rest of God’s people, are usually wonderful people. The Christian superstar mentality, however, does enormous damage to the body of Christ. A few are so exalted as to endanger their spiritual walk, while the average Christian is made to feel inferior. The problem with the limelight is that it puts others in the dark. Don’t fall for that trap.” ~Grantley Morris

"I want you to see Jesus, not me. Focusing on him will flood your life with excitement, fulfilment and achievement. The more you know him, the more your life will fill with love, awe and praise for him. In contrast, the more you know me, the more disappointed you are likely to be. I’d rather endure that shame than have anyone feel inferior to me. I’d prefer to be transparent now than shock people on the Day that God exposes all. I’d rather be seen as a dummy now than as plastic later. I’d rather crawl beneath you and do my best to lift you than try to exalt myself. It would be better for me to grovel in the mud than obscure your view of God by trying to tower over you. I long to be honest but if I must slip up I’d rather err on the side of over-emphasizing my failings." ~Grantley Morris

"Oh, that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." ~1Chronicles4:10

"Your ministry to others comes from the past of your deepest pains and darkest sins." Brittney Moses

"A spiritual Christian is one whose spirit is led by God's Spirit. He draws the power for his daily walk from the life given by the Holy Spirit Who indwells his spirit. He does not abide on earth seeking his own will but the will of God. He does not trust in his cleverness to plan and to perform service towards God. The rule of his walk is to dwell quietly in the spirit, no further influenced or controlled by the outer man."~Watchman Nee

"God's way is plain. We must deny everything originating in ourselves, what we are, what we have, what we can do, and move entirely by Him, daily apprehending the life of Christ through the Holy Spirit."~Watchman Nee

''God celebrates us as His children. He does not define us by what happened to us or by our mistakes or failures. He defines us by Himself. He calls us into a relationship with Him. He offers us an awesome and mind-boggling covenant---not a covenant that we even contribute to. He has called us into a covenant relationship with Him!''~Steve Sampson

"God has created each of us with an inherent value. The worth and value God our Creator has assigned to us does not change. Whether others approve of us, like us, reject us or criticize us, nothing changes who God created us to be. No matter what we have been through, our value does not change." ~Steve Sampson

"Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."~Acts2:38

"Our goal should be to bring the person to repentance. The goal cannot be punishment. Punishment is the penalty that we think a person deserves based on our judgment. Judgment precedes vengeance. Until we pass judgment, we have no desire for vengeance. God says vengeance belongs to Him alone." ~Steve Sampson

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.  In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness."~Mathew23:27-28

"Integrity is when your private life matches your public image. When what you see is what you get--that's integrity. Integrity is who you are when no one is looking, when there's no one around to impress. When you're on that business trip and in a hotel that carries porn cable channels. When the salesclerk gives you back one bill too many. Integrity requires allowing your true character to take center stage and deciding to reveal who you really are and what you truly believe."~Kerry Shook

"I want to tell you that you are more important than you think you are. Important people do important things. Believe that you can. Build that business, get that degree, launch that ministry, birth that dream. If you can believe it, you can be it."~Jentezen Franklin

"How we stress human wisdom and strive for satisfactory arguments in our messages: how we use appropriate illustrations and diverse other means to stir men's emotions: how we employ wise exhortations to induce men to make decisions! But where are the practical results? To what degree do we rely upon the Holy Spirit and to what degree upon the flesh? How can the flesh ever impart life to others? Is there actually any power in the old creation which can qualify people to inherit a part in the new creation?"~ Watchman Nee

"It costs to love, it costs to feel, it costs to care, and when Christ hung on the cross, He was saying, "When you look at the cross, don't just see pain, but see My passion for you, My bride."~Jentezen Franklin

"You can't put up walls where there is no foundation. You can't add a roof where there are no walls. The life-changing truths God has been showing me couldn't have been added to my life had not a strong foundation of the Word been built inside of me, line upon line, precept upon precept, through many hours and many years of praying in tongues while meditating on the scriptures."~Dave Roberson

"Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn? If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness."~2Corinthians11:29-30

"The consequences of not confessing your sins are terrible, but the rewards for taking responsibility and facing God with them are wonderful. God will give you mercy, forgiveness, and cleansing from all unrighteousness. The God of love loved you before you were born again and loves you just as much now. It doesn't matter how grievous your sin or how badly you feel you have blown it and disappointed Him. God is like the father of the prodigal son, waiting with open arms to hug you, clasp you to Himself, and return you to your rightful place in His kingdom. Like the prodigal son, you may be dirty and smelly from wallowing with the pigs, but God doesn't care about your "hygiene"; He'll clean you up. He wants you to come home."~Marilyn Hickey

"Somewhere in the midst of this divine planning session, long before the eons of time began, God came across your name. Then He formulated a perfect plan just for you that is unlike any other person who has ever been born. Imagine---God the Father looked across the great void of space and time and saw the moment in time when you would live on this earth. Then He decided precisely how that moment should be filled."~Dave Roberson

"Have you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior? Have you joined the family of God? Only those who are born again can be free from generational iniquities- the negative spiritual traits that you have either begun or those passed on to you by your forefathers. Your only escape is to be born anew through the blood of Jesus and to receive God, our spiritual Father. When you become born again, your old family traits are cancelled and the qualities and blessings of Jesus became your birthright."~Marilyn Hickey

"God formulated a perfect plan for every single person born since Adam. He only awaits for each person to find out what that plan is and then choose to walk in it. A person can live and die and go to hell without knowing Jesus or fulfilling God's plan for his life. However, that doesn't change the fact that God had a perfect plan of redemption and purpose for that person; he just never discovered it. But, praise God, you don't have to be one of that number! If you have found the Cross and made Jesus your personal Savior, nothing can stop you from discovering the rest of God's plan for your life. All you have to do is choose to obey Him."~Dave Roberson

"Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love.Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee. Take my love, my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure-store. Take myself, and I will be ever, only for Thee."~Frances R. Havergal

"The Bible tells you not to marry a non-Christian: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers"(2Cor.6:14). Why? Because they are under the curse of sin. Do you want your children to be under the curse? Then don't marry an unbeliever. You want your home to be blessed, not cursed; you want your children to be blessed, not cursed. When you came to Jesus, you began to break that curse. So don't marry an unbeliever and invite a new curse in."~ Marilyn Hickey

"I'm not there yet Lord but I see you and what you're doing in me, I look forward to the day when I listen to this poem and can say truly I am a true man of God in all my ways"

"Lord, I resign not because I am able but because I am helpless. My temper, pride, hardness, and jealousy remain with me, but there is nothing I can do. I can only hand over myself. Henceforth everything is in Your hand."~ Watchman Nee

    "East To West"~ Casting Crowns

Here I am, Lord, and I'm drowning in your sea of forgetfulness
The chains of yesterday surround me
I yearn for peace and rest
I don't want to end up where You found me
And it echoes in my mind, keeps me awake tonight
I know You've cast my sin as far as the east is from the west
And I stand before You now as though I've never sinned
But today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way

Jesus, can You show me just how far the east is from the west
'cause I can't bear to see the man I've been come rising up in me again
In the arms of Your mercy I find rest
'cause You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other

I start the day, the war begins, endless reminding of my sin
Time and time again Your truth is drowned out by the storm I'm in
Today I feel like I'm just one mistake away from You leaving me this way

I know You've washed me white, turned my darkness into light
I need Your peace to get me through, to get me through this night
I can't live by what I feel, but by the truth Your word reveals
I'm not holding on to You, but You're holding on to me
    You're holding on to me

Jesus, You know just how far the east is from the west
I don't have to see the man I've been come rising up in me again
In the arms of Your mercy I find rest
'cause You know just how far the east is from the west
From one scarred hand to the other
One scarred hand to the other
From one scarred hand to the other

Story of a little girl who understood victory, by Watchman Nee.

Someone asked the little girl, "how do you overcome when you are tempted?" "Formerly, whenever the devil came knocking at my door," she reported, "I would immediately say, 'Don't you come in, don't you come in!' But this always ended up in defeat. Now, though, whenever the devil knocks at the dorr, I at once say to the Lord: 'Lord You open the door.' The Lord goes forward to do so. And as soon as the devil sees the Lord, the devil says: 'I am sorry, I have knocked at the wrong door.' And with that he turns and flees.

"Man is not saved by repentance for his past bad deeds, just as he is not saved by trusting in his past good deeds. Man is saved through the salvation accomplished by the Lord on the cross. We should hold fast to this foundation."~Watchman Nee

    Romans 12 Confession

    ·         My body is a living sacrifice to the Lord, holy and pleasing to Him, that is my spiritual act of worship
    ·         I do not conform to the pattern of the world
    ·         I am transformed by the renewing of my mind
    ·         I am able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will
    ·         I do not think of myself more highly than I ought. I think of myself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given me
    ·         Whatever my gift is, I use it in proportion to my faith
    ·         My love is sincere
    ·         I hate what is evil and cling to what is good
    ·         I am devoted to others in brotherly love
    ·         I honour others above myself
    ·         I am never lacking in zeal. I keep my spiritual fevour, serving the Lord
    ·         I am joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer
    ·         I share with God’s people who are in need
    ·         I practice hospitality
    ·         I bless those who persecute me, I bless I do not curse
    ·         I rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn
    ·         I live in harmony with others
    ·         I am not proud, I am willing to associate myself with people of low position, I am not conceited

"Our focus is on the many miscellaneous sins; we do not pay attention to the root of sin. If a man only pays attention to miscellaneous sins without paying attention to the root of sin, he is overturning the work of Christ. His salvation is merely a mental salvation and moral improvement; it is not a change in life or the gaining of life. A wrong emphasis on sin will not save men. Sin is a wrong relationship between God and man."~Watchman Nee

"Please consider this: If He was willing to go to the cross because He loved you, would He stop loving you just because you failed, fell, and backslid? Would the love He had on the cross decrease? It may be very easy for you not to love Him, draw near to Him, or return to Him; but it is impossible for Him to forget you, forsake you, or not love you. During the three days after the Lord was crucified, Peter was silent because he had fallen. But the Lord did not forget him. Therefore, if you do not have the strength to come to the Lord, as long as you are willing to believe in His words, He will give you the strength to draw near to Him. If you fall, He can make you rise up again. Although it seems that you will not be able to draw near to Him anymore, remember in faith the words “And peter,” and you will be able to draw near to Him." (Watchman Nee, And Peter)

    Confession from Romans Chapter6

I died to sin, how can I live in it any longer? I was buried with Jesus through baptism into death in order that I may live a new life. My old self has been crucified so that the body of sin might be done away, that I should no longer be a slave of sin. I have died with Christ therefore I believe that I will lie with him. I count myself dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, I do not let sin reign in my mortal body; I do not offer parts of my body to sin. I offer myself to God, and offer my body as an instrument of righteousness. Sin shall not be my master because I am not under the law, but under grace. I have been set free fro sin and have become a slave of righteousness. I have been set free from sin and I am a slave to God, and the benefit that I reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
        How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”
Who has ever given to God,
        that God should repay them?
For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen."`~Roman11:33-36

"One good thing that came out of me living a sinful life is that I discovered that everything that the world had to offer was empty and hollow, incapable of satisfying me in a lasting way." ~Zac Poonen

"O my God, I have seen that all things come from Thee. All my ways these five years, ten years, or twenty years, are of Thee. Thou hast so worked to attain Thy purpose, which is none other than that Thy life may be lived out through me. But I have been foolish. I did not see. I did many things to deliver myself, thus delaying Thy time. Today I see Thy hand. I am willing to offer myself to Thee. Once again I place myself in Thy hands."~ Watchman Nee

"We can preach by using our mind, we can stir others by using our emotions, yet if we do not know how to use our spirit, the Spirit of God cannot touch people through us."~ Watchman Nee

"The Lord wants to break our outward man in order that the inward man may have a way out. When the inward man is released, both unbelievers and Christians will be blessed."~ Watchman Nee

"I want nothing for myself; I want everything for God."

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal." ~John12:24-28

"Lord, for the future of the Church, for the future of the gospel, for Thy way, and also for my own life, I offer myself without condition, without reservation, into Thy hands. Lord, I delight to offer myself unto Thee and am willing to let Thee have Thy full way through me."~Watchman Nee

"He has me in the furnace and He heats it, and He heats it, and He heats it-and it feels like hell sometimes. He throws out what He doesn’t like: My pride, my ambition, my secret lust, my temper, my unforgiving spirit, my stubbornness. He purifies until He looks at me and He sees His reflection. He won’t be satisfied with less. He doesn’t come to make me a great preacher, or a great writer, or a great singer, He comes because He wants to reflect His beauty in my life!" Leonard Ravenhill

"Repentance means a change of mind. Formerly, I thought sin as a pleasant thing, but now I have changed my mind about it. Formerly, I thought the world an attractive place, but now I know better. Formerly I regarded it miserable business to be a Christian, but now I think differently. Once I thought certain things delightful, now I think them vile. Once I thought other things utterly worthless, now I think them most precious. That is a change of mind, and that is repentance."~Watchman Nee

"I do not consecrate myself to be a missionary or a preacher; I consecrate myself to God to do His will where I am, be it in school, office or kitchen, counting whatever He ordains for me to be the very best, for nothing but good can come to those who are wholly His."~ Watchman Nee

"Throughout your life your aim in preaching has been to turn bad men into good men; but men as such, whether good or bad, can have no vital relationship with God. Our only hope as men is to receive the Son of God, and when we do so His life in us will constitute us sons of God."~Watchman Nee

"When the Galilean boy brought his bread to the Lord, what did the Lord do with it? He broke it. God will always break what is offered to Him. He breaks what He takes, but after breaking it He blesses and uses it to meet the needs of others. After you give yourself to the Lord, He begins to break what was offered to Him. Everything seems to go wrong, and you protest and find fault with the ways of God. But to stay there is to be no more than just a broken vessel—no good for the world because you have gone too far for the world to use you, and no good for God either because you have not gone far enough for Him to use you. You are out of gear with the world, and you have a controversy with God."~Watchman Nee

"Because the Lord Jesus died on the cross, I have received forgiveness of sins; because the Lord Jesus rose from the dead, I have received new life; because the Lord Jesus has been exalted to the right hand of the Father, I have received the out-poured Spirit. All is because of Him; nothing is because of me!"~Watchman Nee

    New Creation
"I'm a new creation. I'm a brand new man. Old things have passed away, I'm born again! I'm more than a conqueror, that's who I am! I'm a new creation, I'm a brand new man!"

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. ~Galatians2:20

"The secret of understanding the Bible is to have an intimate relationship with the Lord first of all – who better than He can explain to us what His Word means. Walk with Him like the early disciples did and long to hear Him speak to you. Then your eyes will be opened like theirs and your hearts will be set aflame like theirs. This is what I have discovered in the several years that I have walked with my Lord."~Zac Poonen

Oh For a Thousand Tongues to sing

Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing
    My great Redeemer's praise
The glories of my God and King
    The triumphs of His grace

My gracious Master and my God
    Assist me to proclaim
To spread through all the earth abroad
    The honors of Thy name

Jesus, the name that charms our fears
    That bids our sorrows cease
'Tis music in the sinner's ears
'Tis life and health and peace

He breaks the power of canceled sin
    He sets the prisoners free
His blood can make the foulest clean
    His blood availed for me

He speaks and listening to His voice
    New life the dead receive
    The mournful broken hearts rejoice
    The humble poor believe

    God deserves all the glory

Not to me, O Lord, not to me, but to You be all the glory. It is you who picked me up from the dust & made me sit on a throne of glory. It is You who found me thrown out in the open field & picked me up, made me beautiful, & clothed me with garments of glory. Everything I have and that I am today, I have received from You so I can boast in nothing, O Lord. You alone are Worthy, o God, my Father, to receive all glory & honor, both Now & Forever more!

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.~Isaiah40:4-5

I want to take your word and shine it all around
But first help me just to live it Lord
And when I'm doing well, help me to never seek a crown
For my reward is giving glory to you.~Jesus Culture Lyrics

All people dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity. but the dreamers of the day are dangerous, for they may act upon their dreams with open eyes to make them possible.~ T.E Lawrence

Those who don't study the Word of God deserve to be deceived. ~Zac Poonen

Many women who lived a flirtatious life in their unconverted days do not cleanse their spirit fully after their conversion. The result is that even 20 years after their conversion, their eyes are still flirtatious. I say to all young men: Stay clear of such sisters. ~Zac Poonen

Man looks on the outside, but God looks at the heart” (1 Sam.16:7).
What other believers think of your spirituality has no value before God. He looks at your thoughts, motives and attitudes. Don’t glory in your reputation before people, if your heart is unclean.~Zac Poonen

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only ONE receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it!~ 1Corinthians9:24

I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. ~
    1Corinthians4:3-5

Don’t let people put you on a pedestal. You all have a single Teacher, and you are all classmates. Don’t set people up as experts over your life, letting them tell you what to do. Save that authority for God; let him tell you what to do. No one else should carry the title of ‘Father’. You have only one Father, and He’s in heaven. And don’t let people maneuver you into taking charge of them. There is only one Life-Leader for you and them - Christ. Do you want to stand out? Then step down. Be a servant. If you puff yourself up, you’ll get the wind knocked out of you. But if you’re content to simply be yourself, your life will count for plenty (Matt.23:8-12 – The Message).

There are people who put their dreams in a little box and say, 'Yes, I've got dreams, of course I've got dreams.' Then they put the box away and bring it out once in a while to look in it, and yep, they're still there. -Erma Bombeck

Let's tell our young people that the best books are yet to be written; the best paintings have not been painted; the best governments are yet to be formed; the best is yet to be done by them!- William James

“All of us go through life playing a ‘hiding game’. Because we are ashamed of what we are, we hide from each other. We wear masks so that others won’t be able to see the real person living inside us. We look at each other through our masks and call that ‘fellowship’. We give people the impression that we are secure and undisturbed, but that is only a mask. Underneath that mask we are confused, afraid and lonely. We fear lest others see through us. We are afraid that if they saw the real person inside, they would reject us and perhaps laugh at us - and their laugh would kill us. So we play the ‘pretending game’ – appearing to be confident and assured, but all the while trembling like a child within. Our whole life becomes a front. We talk and joke with others, telling them all the un-important things about ourselves and nothing about that which is really crying out within us.”

“We long to be accepted, understood and loved by others. But we have found in experience, that whenever we expose our real selves to others, they reject us. We keep searching for someone who will accept us, even when they know everything about us. But we never find such a person. We hear of born-again Christians talking about love, and hope rises within our hearts that perhaps they might accept us. But when we join them, we discover very soon that they too are wearing masks. And they only find fault with us.

“What is the solution to this? We need to see ourselves accepted and loved by God just as we are. God is Love. To experience the love of God will make us bold. And we will no longer need to pretend. We will then be ourselves – with God as well as with man. The love of God will never force us to do anything. God recognizes all our imperfections and He still accepts us without condemning us. On the other hand, He wants to perfect us. To know that we have been accepted by God in spite of all that He sees in us and knows about us, is the root of a happy Christian life. This is the abundant life that Jesus came to give.

“Knowing the love of God will also bring a permanent end to our seeking for acceptance from man. We will be filled with confidence. Our guilt will be gone and our fears will be driven away. We may be alone sometimes, but never lonely, for God has promised never to leave us or forsake us.”

To the backslider, from the book of Galatians

I marvel that you are so soon removed from Him that called you, from the one who separated you in your mother's womb and called you by His grace! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth? Are you so foolish, having begun in the spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh? Ye did run well; who did hinder you that you should not obey the truth?  Have you suffered so many things in vain?  Now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Extract from Holley Gerth's book- God Sized Dream

    Hello, friend

I'm thinking of you this morning, wherever you are, and of the difference you're making.

    You might think its small.
You might think no one really sees.
You might think you should do something bigger, better, more spiritual.

But lean in and listen closely...

The best gift you can offer this world is Jesus in you.
    And that's what you're doing---

Just putting messy, glorious, imperfect, made-new you out there!

In your home, your family, your office, your community, your world.

We'd miss you if you weren't there, no one can take your place.

So keep it up my friend. Keep giving and loving and living right where you are! ~Holly Gerth

Confession I made from one of Dr. Myles Munroe's books

The Author knows what He gave me and what He authorized me to become, and I will stand, for the Lord is able to make me stand!
When I was born I came into this stage called earth and my audience is an audience of One!
My Author is the manufacture of the entire world, the Author of all creation. He built everything to fulfill what it was designated to be.
If I boast I boast in the Lord for it is not the one who commends himself that is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends!
Until He says “well done”, I won’t quit trying! Until He says, “Good and faithful servant” I have not made it!
I can always find someone whom I think I’m better than, but the person I have to beat is myself!
I won’t apologize for being myself. I am true to myself; I am manifesting my true self!
My mind is renewed by God’s Word. I’ll be transformed into what God’s perfect will is for my life.
Today I ask myself, “Am I being true to myself as the Creator made me? Is this who I really want to be? Is this really who I am?”
From this day forward I am determined to be authentic! My desire is to manifest myself! The Creator will not allow me to get lost in the crowed. I am important, essential, and original!
What is inside of me is so tremendous that only God has the details, only He can describe me because He is the Author and finisher of my faith!
This is why I do not allow myself or others to limit me based on my past behavior or circumstance!
Many people only hear a part of my story. They size me up and dismiss me, telling me that I’m a nobody! Their eyes have not seen, their ears have not heard, neither have their mind conceived what God has prepared for me because I love Him!
I am so awesome that I need to be explained by God! I haven’t read the end of my story yet!
Moses was a murderer- temporarily. Rehab was a prostitute-temporarily. Gideon was a coward-temporarily! Paul of Tarsus was a killer- temporarily! I am what I am today-temporarily!
It is not the end of my story! In spite of all conditions, I do not give up on myself.
I am developing physically, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically, and I will begin to manifest my true authority.
Nobody knows what’s really inside of me, but let me remind you: Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world!

Words of wisdom from my Pastor
If a guy just grabs you in the first week of dating and kisses you, he doesn’t respect you. If there’s no respect before marriage, there’s not gonna be respect after marriage. Now think about this: Would you rather marry someone who doesn’t respect you to divorce when you’re 28?? A man who does not respect you has no right to your body, and there’s no respect until there’s a ring on that finger! Prevention is better than cure!

Confession I wrote after reading Colossians Chapter 2
As I have received Christ I walk also in him. Rooted and built up in him, established in the faith! I am complete in Christ which is the head of all principality and power! In him I am circumcised but not with the circumcision of hands. I've put off the body of the sins of the flesh, buried with him in baptism, and now I've risen with him through faith! I am dead to my sins, he has forgiven all my trespasses, and have made me come alive in him! He blotted out all my unfavorable records that were against me, and took them out of my way, nailing them to the cross!!

I don't want to be a good Christian
    Poem by Micah

    God, sometimes I feel
like I’m not a good Christian in Your eyes,
like You’re a Father disappointed in me,
frustrated, wishing I would do more, be more,
and I wonder are You proud of me?

    Am I a good Christian?
    Do I make You smile?

    I don’t want to fail.
I don’t want to disappoint You.
and sometimes I feel like I’m
not as spiritual as I used to be.
I’m afraid that I’ll slip away from You,
    slowly fade and become lost.

    I don’t want this.

Can I stop trying to earn Your love?
Can I stop trying to be a good Christian?

    A Time for Everything
    From Ecclesiastes

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

He has made everything beautiful in its time!!
A confession I wrote myself after reading a book by Bishop TD Jakes

I was held captive by a cruel master, but then Jesus came & redeemed me. He paid the price for my release from the enemy & the bondage in which he held me! I became Jesus' property, and he marked me as His! I am sealed by the Holy Spirit as a sign to all, that I have the protection of Jesus. Therefore, I am able to walk in this world & not become a part of it! I am able to walk & not be able to be destroyed by the destroyer. I am sealed, marked, secured, & protected. I've been bought with a price, free from Satan's grip, and safe in the arms of Jesus. Now I'm able to serve my Lord and Savior with so much gladness in my heart!

    Oceans- Hillsong
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
    In oceans deep
    My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
    When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
    Your sovereign hand
    Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
    Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

"Lamentations 3:27 says, “It is good for a man to bear the yoke (humble himself and be broken) in his youth.” Allow God to break you when you are young. Don’t fight against the circumstances God permits in your life, for that will only delay God’s plan. All your Bible knowledge, musical abilities and money cannot equip you for God’s service. Brokenness is essential. Jacob could become an Israel only when he was broken. Moses could become a leader and a prophet only when he was broken."~Zac Poonen

"I lived in bondage to depression for many years and was defeated. That was not God’s will for me; but I just couldn’t break free from it. Things have been different for me ever since my eyes were opened to the truth that God loves me just as He loves Jesus. I now see that everything that comes my way has come from the hand of a loving Father. I’ve seen that He cares for me as the apple of His eye; and so no circumstance in life can ever make me grumble or get depressed now. I have learnt, as Paul says, the secret of being content and praising God in all my circumstances."~Zac Poonen

"I want my life to give life to others and inspire them to live better. There is a growing passion in my heart to continue taking this message of “finding more life by owning less” to more and more people. I’m not entirely sure what that looks like down the road, but there’s a 100% chance leadership qualities will be required."~Joshua Becker

"I'll take my cold heart, cold heart,
    I'll take my unrenewed mind,
And then I'll give You time...
    To come and melt me.
Do what only You can do-come fan the flame"

“What I’m saying to you this morning my friends, is that even if it falls your lot to be a street sweeper, go on out and sweep streets like Michelangelo painted pictures; sweep streets like Handel and Beethoven composed music; sweep streets like Shakespeare wrote poetry; sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will have to pause and say, “Here lived a great street sweeper who swept his job well.” ~Martin Luther King Jr

“I exist to manifest the glory of God! I exist to wrap the flesh of my life around the Word, the Logos, the essence of God, so that my brothers and sisters here on earth can see the glory of God. When I do this, I regain perspective and my religion again makes sense.” ~Chris Jackson

“I’m not perfect and neither are you. In fact, it seems that the older I get, the more imperfect I become-either that or the more finicky God gets! Whether it’s me backsliding or Him requiring more of me as I age, the obvious is true- I am a work in process, and any pretense otherwise is laughable. The world doesn’t want a limp handshake and a cheesy smile-they want honesty and transparency; they want someone to cling to them and help them navigate the reality of life through the reality of knowing God.” ~Chris Jackson

"God wants you to live in victory. It doesn't matter how dirty your thought-life is, or how long you have been defeated by anger. The Lord can set you completely free and give you a pure heart. But He can't do it for you until you believe. Keep making that confession, each time you fall, until victory becomes a reality in your life. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't come overnight. God will surely honour the confession of your mouth."~Zac Poonen

"Jesus came to deliver us from slavery. Man is a slave today to the power of money, to illegitimate sexual pleasure, to the opinions of others, and to many other things. He is not free. God created him to be like the eagle that flies high in the sky. But everywhere we find man in chains, unable to conquer his temper, unable to control his tongue, unable to control his lustful eyes. Jesus came, not just to die for our sins, but also to deliver us from this slavery."~Zac Poonen

“Doing little things with a great desire to please God makes them really great.”~St Francis De Sales

"My biggest source of shame is how far short of my own words I fall in my everyday living. I hope I love and fear God too much to live in deliberate sin. I try hard because nothing is more important than daily living revealed truth. I dare not add to my shortcomings, however, by implying I have yet traveled nearly as far as I can see. I pray you do much better. No one knowing the real me is very impressed, but I fear the inflated guesses of anyone using my writings to imagine what I am really like. The last thing the world needs is yet another idol, no matter how puny. Were I in the top 1% of Christians, I would only be one of millions, since estimates suggest there are hundreds of millions of Christians. As it is, I might not scrape into the top 50%.Famous Christians, like the rest of God’s people, are usually wonderful people. The Christian superstar mentality, however, does enormous damage to the body of Christ. A few are so exalted as to endanger their spiritual walk, while the average Christian is made to feel inferior. The problem with the limelight is that it puts others in the dark. Don’t fall for that trap."~Grantley Morris

"Being a born again Christian is not easy. You get chosen to live in the narrow path. You strive to imitate your perfect heavenly Father. Plagued by condemnation, feelings of failure and inadequacy, you anticipate the next prayer meeting with other believers. You make endless calls, oh how you’d do anything to forget about your mistakes. As soon as you go down on your knees however, you feel the Spirit of God singing a song within you. Strengthening you, encouraging you, and reminding you that you’re not alone. You can tell Him your secrets. You don’t need to bare your soul out in the open for the whole world to see, He is your comforter. Jesus loves you so much. Though you bring shame on yourself, he will never shame you. Though you give up on yourself, He doesn’t give up on you. You might feel that you’ve reached the end of your journey, but Jesus is still pursuing you. Learn from your mistakes, fight the good fight, and keep on keeping on."~Tissy

"Man was created to be centered in God and not in himself. And when Christians have got their center wrong, their "gospel" will be wrong too. Basically, there are only two gospels being preached today – one, man-centered and the other, God-centered.The man-centered gospel promises man that God will give him everything he needs to make his life on earth comfortable and will also give him a seat in heaven at the end of his life. Man is told that Jesus will forgive all his sins, heal all his diseases, bless and prosper him materially, solve all his earthly problems, etc., etc.

Self still remains at the center of such a man's life, and God revolves around him - as his servant - to answer his every prayer and to give him whatever he wants!! All that he has to do is "believe" and "claim every material blessing in Jesus' Name"!!This is a false gospel, because no mention is made of "repentance". Repentance is what John the Baptist, Jesus, Paul, Peter and all the apostles preached first of all. And repentance, unfortunately, is what is not preached today, even last of all!!The God-centered gospel, on the other hand, calls upon man to repent. "~Zac Poonen

    "To God be the glory, great things He hathdone;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life, an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate, that all may go in.

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
    To every believer, the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
    And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport1, when Jesus we see!

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
    Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done!"

“The life that wins is not attained but obtained. It is not a life changed, but rather a life exchanged. It is not uppresion, only expression. It is frankly nor in yourself, but it is in Christ who lives in you. The life which God gives and you receive at the time you believe in His Son Jesus Christ is such a life. It is a life that overcomes sin, provides intimate communion with God, and is full of satisfaction and power. It is already in you, waiting to be explored by you. The secret towards experiencing its power is to let go off yourself and let Christ live instead of you. This requires a child like faith. Then shall you more than conquer trough Him who loves you. ”~Watchman Nee

"When we are self-sufficient, we try to use God to help us serve Him. But when we are emptied, God can use us."~Zac Poonen

"In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."~Mark16:17-18

"You once were an enemy of God, but now He sees you as a child, a new person re-created in the likeness of Himself. When proud parents show off their newborn baby, people say things like: 'He has his father's eyes, his mother's chin,' and so forth. When God looks at you, He says: 'Yes, he has My righteousness and My love, and he looks just like My Son!"~ Marilyn Hickey

"Friend I've been round the world a few times, it doesn't give me any standing with God. I happen to write a best seller or two, it doesn't give me any prestige with God. God seeks those who worship Him.
            Worship in spirit,
            Worship Him in truth,
Worship Him in the very beauty of holiness."~Leonard Ravenhill

"Have you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior? Have you joined the family of God? Only those who are born again can be free from generational iniquities- the negative spiritual traits that you have either begun or those passed on to you by your forefathers. Your only escape is to be born anew through the blood of Jesus and to receive God, our spiritual Father. When you become born again, your old family traits are cancelled and the qualities and blessings of Jesus became your birthright."~Marilyn Hickey

"Sexual sin seems to be one of the very worst curses. This is an important lesson for young people. When the devil comes to you with immorality, that is a curse. Girls, when some guy wants something from you that you shouldn't be giving him, that's a curse. And guys, when some girl tries to tempt you, that's a curse. If you get into immorality, you will bring a curse on yourself, and your children, and on your children's children. Don't do it. Don't get involved. Be smart."~Marilyn Hickey

“True worship does not have its purpose to see the Lord-rather; worship comes from having seen Him. When we see Him, we will worship. When we see His glory, we will no longer be captivated by our own positive or negative qualities-our souls will be captured by His beauty. When the lamb enters, even the twenty-four elders will cast their crowns at His feet. That is the goal of true faith-to see Him, to abide in Him, and to reveal Him.” ~Rick Joyner

"I wish some ministers would remember that we are to be the love slaves of Jesus Christ. We are not here to carry prestige, or power, or personality, or show off. We're the least of all men; we're servants."~Leonard Ravenhill

"We think that if we read a lot of books about the deeper life, as good as they are, they will make us a saint. I've got news for you. Even reading the Bible won't make you a saint! You've got to get it in your blood stream.I believe I could line the altar, indeed I've seen the altar lined with hundreds, night after night in mass meetings, and yet I believe, at the end of the day, Jesus Christ could say to me, "Thou gavest Me no kiss." Why?Because I was so busy serving Him, I forgot to worship Him.The priority that God wants in our life is that we worship Him in spirit."~Leonard Ravenhill

“We do not crucify ourselves for the sake of righteousness, purification, spiritual maturity, or to get the Lord to manifest Himself; this is nothing more conjuring. We are “crucified with Christ”. If we “crucify ourselves”, the only result is self-righteousness-which is pride in one of its most base forms.  This pride is deceptive, because it gives the appearance of wisdom and righteousness.”~ Rick Joyner

James said, "...we all stumble in many ways..." (Jas.3:2). If we had to wait until we were perfect before we could minister, no one would ever qualify for the ministry."~Rick Joyner

“Whatever failures I have known, whatever errors I have committed, whatever follies I have witnessed in public and private life, have been the consequences of action without thought.”~ Bernard Baruch

"The Lord has proven that He will commission and use men long before most of us would, and when He calls us, He already knows all the mistakes that we will make. The grace of God will lead us up the mountain step-by-step. The Lord does not condemn us because we may trip a few times while trying to climb. He graciously picks us up with the encouragement that we can make it. We must have a vision of making it to the top, and should never condemn ourselves for not being there yet, as long as we are still climbing."~Rick Joyner

"Spiritual ones ought to possess spiritual knowledge so that all
their movements can be governed by spiritual reasoning. They
should not act impulsively according to fleeting emotion or flashing
thought. They should never be in haste. Every action must be
scrutinized with spiritual insight in order that only what is approved
by the spirit’s intuitive knowledge is permitted. Nothing should be
      done which is propelled by excited feeling or abrupt thought;
everything must be carefully and quietly examined before it is
      executed."~Watchman Nee

“Today I know that such memories are the key not to the past, but to the future. I know that the experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do. ”
    ― Corrie Ten Boom

"The greatest tragedy in life is not death: It is life without a purpose. Purpose is defined as the original intent or motivation for something. Purpose is also defined as the reason or desired result for the initiation or an action of production of a thing. Simply put, purpose is the "why" of a thing. Without a clear understanding of purpose, life becomes an experiment. Where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable."~ Dr Myles Munroe

“A sum can be put right: but only by going back till you find the error and working it afresh from that point, never by simply going on.” ~C.S Lewis
