Take Your Relationship with Christ Seriously!

Three days ago I hosted dinner in celebration of my three months anniversary with Jesus! It wasn't what I quite expected but by the help of the Holy Spirit it took place nonetheless! Only seven people, myself included, were present at the dinner! There was nothing fancy about it really but just hosting dinner for a King made it worthwhile! Judging from the giggles and sarcasm from my hosts, I knew that they thought I had lost my mind! Why shouldn't  I take this "thing" so seriously!? Is it because we don't see Jesus in the physical? Well, I don't need to see Him face to face to believe in His existence! The events in my life are quite an evidence that I have a God who loves me and  this God is serious about me! Some people's lives change when they enter a new relationship! Some change when they have children! Others change when they find out their HIV status and mine changed when I received Jesus in my heart!

I take my Jesus seriously! Having him in my life gave me a whole new perspective to life! As I walk with him each day he helps me realize the importance of obeying God! When you take your relationship with Jesus seriously, you value and obey his commands! You strive to please him every day and not just some days! One day you are holy the next you are part of the world? No, it doesn't work like that! Make a decision to follow God and mean it! God asked me to host dinner for our three months anniversary and it somewhat looked foolish to the people around me! But it doesn't matter how foolish I look or feel, God honors obedience! If you obey God its okay to look foolish to the world! He sees you and is moved by your faith! I always think that when somebody desires to obey God and calls upon Him with a sincere heart, He in return gives you that sincere look! God is a powerful God but when you call upon Him,He stoops low to your level and is humbled by your call! He cannot ignore His daughter's request! You are His princess, the apple of his eye, chosen and highly favored and He will give you your hearts desires! God says in Isaiah 57:15, "I am the high and holy God, who lives forever. I live in a high and holy place, but I also live with people who are humble and repentant, so that I can restore their confidence and hope."

Being serious about God touches His heart! Obeying Him softens His heart towards you! If you are going to pray, pray and don't play! If you are going to set yourself a specific and certain amount of time to fast, stick to your fast! If you are going to make an appointment with Him everyday at 5am in the morning, pitch for your appointment despite the cold! Jesus cherishes the small things and is preparing you for even greater things! Your obedience causes God to move mountains for you! It causes Him to command armies and nations to work on your behalf! God says in Isaiah 43:4,
"Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
    and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life."
Your obedience causes God to command His angels to be in charge of you! It causes Him to open doors that were shut for you and it causes Him to release a blessing upon you that you wont even be able to contain! There is a serious attitude from God stirred by your simple act of obedience!

During the holidays my ex-boyfriend always wanted to see me! I also wanted to see Him but God had asked me not to see him again especially in places where we were alone! One day I decided to ignore God's plea and went to see him anyway! Although we had not done anything, when I got back home I felt like I had committed a terrible sin!  I asked God, why am I feeling so much like a looser even though I did not kiss Thato? The Holy Spirit said, "Child...the kiss is not the issue, obedience is the issue!" Do not disobey God when He asks you not to do something, same as when He asks you to do something for Him! Disobedience is rooted by witchcraft and when you know this, you will find it unnecessary to judge somebody who fornicates or gets drunk! Disobedience is also sin!!! God is able to use your obedient attitude to change your life around and He has your best interests at heart! When He asked me not to see Thato, He was not being spiteful or trying to punish me, He was trying to save me from igniting sexual feelings that will eventually lead to fornication! We never see the bigger picture!!! When God asks me to host dinner for Him, I see only seven, giggling people attending but He sees seventy, seven hundred, seven hundred thousand or even seven million people under my ministry! See, God gives you a vision and it starts small! Slowly but surely as you walk in obedience it sprouts into a bigger thing!! With faith comes obedience, and with obedience comes the blessing of God! Hallelujah!

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19

  2. very much blessed by your witness. I was looking online about taking your relationship with Christ seriously and I came across your site. I am with you. How serious am I about Christ? I sat and wrote in my journal asking myself this question. I value my relationship with Christ, I value my integrity and my character in Christ; but how far am I willing to go? So far I never want to go backwards, so far I want Christ to use me as he sees fit. To walk in faith and trust what he has told me and shown me and know it will come to pass in His time. Thank you for being obedient and I definitely can appreciate your feelings about feeling like a loser, only to find out it was sin that had separated us from God.
