I AM SOMEBODY (AUTHOR UNKOWN)

I may be young, I may be old,

But I’m somebody,

For I am God’s child.

I may be educated, I may be unlettered,

But I am somebody,

For I am God’s child.

I may be black, I may be white,

But I am somebody,

For I am God’s child.

I may be rich, I may be poor,

But I am somebody,

For I am God’s child.

I may be fat, I may be thin,

But I am somebody,

For I am God’s child.

I may be married, I may be divorced,

But I am Somebody,

For I am God’s child.

I may be successful, I may be a failure,

But I am somebody,

For I am God’s child.

I may be a sinner, I may be a saint,

But I am somebody,

For Jesus is my Savior!

I am God’s child!

Only Believe
By Paul Radar (1879-1938)

Fear not, little flock, from the cross to the throne,
From death into life He went for His own;
All power on earth, all power above,
Is given to Him for the flock of His love.

Fear not, little flock, He goeth ahead,
Your Shepherd selecteth the path you must tread;
The waters of Marah He’ll sweeten for thee,
He drank all the bitter in Gethesmane.

Fear not, little flock, whatever your lot,
He enters all rooms, “the doors being shut”,
He never forsakes; He never is gone,
So count on His presence in darkness and dawn.

Only believe, only believe;
All things are possible, only believe,
Only believe, only believe;

All things are possible, only believe.

Loneliness (Ross Rosenberg, age17)

Loneliness is a feeling,
Which is so hard to accept.
It will gnaw at you for a lifetime.
No matter how hard you
Try to forget.

The pain it causes is unbearable.
Only if you knew of this
Pain and how it hurts.
You hope someone will understand,
But no one does.

All I ask for is one mere favor.
Just a friend, someone who cares, someone who loves,
Someone who will give me strength.
And how I need this.

Many times my dreams are shattered.
But I swear, it is ever fulfilled,
You will see me with an outstretched hand.

I am ready now to experience something I have craved for so long.
If it takes a fight to get over this dreadful feeling, I am ready
I am waiting.

Just let me get knocked down, You will see me get right back.
And yet I will still fight.
Fierce and determined I will have to be.
You might even see me bruised and injured.
But I will never give up.

Here I am.
Just maybe, just maybe if I shed enough tears,
I might look and notice,
Just maybe there will be someone at my side.
Someone who really cares,
Someone who understands.

How excited I get at this thought.
A dream it may sound to be,
But if it is, I beg of you,

Please do not wake me up!

Now Let Our Cheerful Eyes
By Phillip Doddridge (1702-1751)

Now let our cheerful eyes
Our great High Priest above,
And celebrate his constant care
And sympathizing love.

Though raised to heaven’s exalted throne,
Where angels bow around,
And high o’er all the hosts of light,
With matchless honors crowned.

The names of all his saints he bears,
Deep graven on his heart;
Nor shall the meanest Christian say
That he hath lost his part.

So, gracious Saviour, on our breasts
May thy dear name be worn,
A sacred ornament and guard,
To endless ages borne.

Love Divine, All Love Excelling
Charles Wesley (1707-1799)

Love divine, all love excelling,
Joy of heaven, to earth come down;
Fix in us thy humble dwelling;
All thy faithful mercies crown.
Jesus, thou art all compassion,
Pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation,
Enter every trembling heart.

Breathe, oh, breathe thy Holy Spirit
Into every troubled breast;
Let us all thy grace inherit;
Let us find thy promised rest;
Take away the love of sinning;
Take our load of guilt away;
End the work of thy beginning;
Bring us to eternal day.

Carry on thy new creation;
Pure and holy may we be;
Let us see our whole salvation
Perfectly secured by thee;
Change from glory into glory,
Till in heaven we take our place,
Till we cast our crowns before thee,
Lost in wonder, love, and praise.

God Is Present Everywhere
Oliver Holden (1765-1844)

“They who seek the throne of grace
Find that throne in every place;
If we live a life of prayer,
God is present everywhere.

In our sickness and our health,
In our want, or in our wealth,
If we look to God in prayer,
God is present everywhere.

When our earthly comforts fail,
When the woes of life prevail,
‘Tis the time for earnest prayer;
God is present everywhere.

Then, my soul, in every strait,
To thy Father come, and wait;
He will answer every prayer:
God is present everywhere.
