Embrace Your Singlehood!

Trying to fathom God’s plan, for any single Christian woman, can be quite hard! I for one do ask myself many questions, “How can he not be the one when not a single day passes by and I don’t think about him?” How can he not be the one, you ask, when it feels so right, when every part of your being longs to be with him! Perhaps God will change His mind? The truth however is that God doesn’t change His mind and if you are going to walk in His plan you are going to have to accept a lot of truths that might not be convenient for you! No matter how earnestly you desire to be with a man, if God says that he is not the one, you have to simply walk in obedience and fully trust in Him! For some time it might seem as if God has forgotten about you, your need for companionship, your need for sexual fulfilment, but He is taking you through a process which I believe is worth enduring! Saving you from the heartache of getting yourself involved in a relationship which will suddenly vanish in a twinkle of an eye!  (…I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.  Isaiah 54:8)

It’s really sad to see many professing Christians disobeying God and thinking that they can do things their own way! You certainly don’t want to be one of them! You cannot just walk in a relationship knowing full well that it is not God’s will for your life! Well, unless you enjoy having your heart getting constantly broken! That will be the results heartbreak, if it does not come from God it won’t last! To the world this might seem like a bunch of nonsense, waiting on God for the right man sounds foolish! They just want to have fun! Women give themselves easily to men, men take advantage- all this in the name of “fun!” As a Christian you live a different kind of life, al life of meaning, purpose and intense value! Therefore, it is vital that you ensure that the man you allow in your life, in your heart, in your body, is the man God presents to you! For women in the world crying, begging and worshiping a man is normal but you were not created to idolize any man, but live a happy and free life!

Seek God’s wisdom!  (Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.  For those who find me find life and receive favour from the Lord. Proverbs 8: 34-35!) Ask God, how do I love my life as a single Christian woman that desires to please you and walk in your will! Prepare to hop into a new dimension, a new level of growth as you have serious talks with the Creator of your love story! Understand that He’s no longer going to talk to you like a babe but a mature Christian who now eats solid food! The other night when I could not stop thinking about that guy, I thought praying aloud in tongues would get me in the Spirit and help me forget about him! As I prayed the Holy Spirit stopped me and asked, “Titi, what are you saying? What exactly are you praying for! What do you want!?” I felt a bit embarrassed because you know, I just came out from a fast and I thought I had gotten over him and all that but God understands! He doesn’t condemn you or think you are stupid or weak; it’s a process that He’s willing to take you through! He will lead you and you will follow, if you can’t see the way,  He will hold your hand and if you are too weak to carry on, He will carry you!

Your friends and family will eventually get tired of hearing the same old story coming out of your lips but God is ever so patient with you! He’s only concern is getting your character built, your heart being strong and your emotions stable! See, there is a time for everything, a time to pray in tongues and a time to pray with understanding!  What is the point of a Christian woman praying  in tongues but is constantly hurt because she can’t deal with the heaviness in heart that longs for a man? The Holy Spirit asked, “what are you saying Titi, what do you want?” Won’t you just switch your music off for a while and be still? Won’t you just sit down quietly and tell God exactly what’s troubling you? I just spread my arms wide open and whispered, “God I can’t take him off my mind, the same guy you say is not the one for me! I need You King Jesus, help me cope! Fill this longing for him with more of You!”

You need to pray such honest prayers and God will talk back! (For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Isaiah 54:5!) Your openness to God will cause your love for Him to grown and your relationship with Him will get stronger! He gradually removes all those things that you thought mattered so much in your life and replaces the empty spaces with more of His love, more of Him! Isn’t that what you’d like? Knowing that your love and your heart is in the most secure place?

I went to the mall the other day and really for the first time in my life I felt so free! I got out of the house understanding that I am not dressed to impress a man! I could wear my make up or not, just for the fun of it and not because I’m hoping to attract a man! For the first time I was not confused when guys made moves on me, thinking I might be missing an opportunity to find true love! I have learned to embrace my singlehood! Gone are those days when I used to be scared about the future, will I find the right man, will I get married! Gone are the days when I used to stoop low and run after a man or force my own agenda! I experienced true happiness when I truly embraced my life as a single Christian woman and not half looking or behaving in a specific way that will attract a man! I view my singlehood as a gift from God and I am going to use this precious time to discover who I really am and the great future I have with King Jesus!

My confesion~Inspired by Job 11:16-18
I shall lift up my face without spot: yea, I am steadfast with no fear! I shall forget my misery and remember it as waters that passes away! My age shall be clearer than the noonday, I shall shine forth, I shall be as the morning! I shall be secure, because there is hope! Yea, I shall take my rest in safety!
